FAQ

Our studio usually opens Monday to Saturday from 12pm to 7pm. However, sometimes we might be doing outdoor photo-shooting by the time, you may also place it into our mailbox at our address, or please contact us on behalf heading to our store.

In-house Film Processing Services:

35mm Film:

C41/Color, ECN-2/Vision 3, Black and White film processing

120 Film:

C41/Color, ECN-2/Vision 3, Black and White film processing

Outsource Services:

35mm/120 E6/Slide film processing

APS film processing

Turnaround times for film processing vary, so please DM us directly for the current estimated turnaround time.

In-House Hand Printing:

We offer in-house wet print services for black and white photography. Hand-printing uses traditional darkroom methods to create unique prints with a tactile feel.

Bring us your black & white or color film negatives, and we can create hand-printed photos or enlargement prints for you. Contact us or visit our studio to learn more.

Our Studio is using Fujifilm Frontier SP300 as our main film scanner.

We do 3 scanning resolution options for 35mm.

Low: 2728 × 1830 pixelMedium: 4547 × 3047 pixel

High: 5444 x 3649 pixel 

The differences between the 3 resolution options

Low quality is ideal for web or social media. It is also perfect for 4x6 printing.

Medium quality is ideal for printing up to 5x7 or A4 size.

High is ideal for A4, A3 or larger size print.

We will update the resolution of 120 film soon!

For locals, you may contact us and drop off your film directly in our store.

If you order online, just click here to order our film development services.

We provide FREE postage labels for customers to send their films to us a Royal Mail 1st class.

However, if your film is very precious, please consider purchasing other tracked delivery services.

Enlarged prints and digital prints can be selected after the developing and scanning process.

We can push/pull up to 2 stops for Black & white and Ecn-2 film processing.

Unfortunately we don't offer push/pull services for C41/color film development.

The turnaround times are normally 3-5 working days for Colour Film; 7-10 working days for B&W/ECN-2 Film.

Turns around time is around 2-4 weeks for E6 Slide film processing.

Please contact us for current turnaround time.

After the development process, we will send you a WeTransfer link/J&A Photography gallery link to you, you can download your images.

The link will be expired in 7 days, and all scanned images will be deleted from our storage after 2 months once they are uploaded.

If you want to purchase any prints, feel free to purchase it though our online gallery.

If you are local in Sheffield, you can collect your negatives in store after the developing and scanning process is done.

​If you order online, select the delivery option from our check-out page, we will then send your negatives back by post. If you do Develop and Scan, you may select the "No negatives back" option to avoid the postage.​

All negatives will only be kept for 2 month. 

For any special requirement postage, such as tracked delivery, please contact us and we will sort this out for you.

Standard Shipping: Royal Mail tracked 48 Large letter (normally arrives in 2-4 business days)

Special Delivery: Royal Mail Special Delivery (arrives next day by 1 pm)

If your film is entirely blank, your film could be exposed to light or film loaded insecurely into a camera. Unfortunately there is no refund for it.
